The Ryleys celebrates 150 Years Young with exciting new developments

The Ryleys School is celebrating the start of its 150th anniversary year with significant investment in its facilities, exciting new learning spaces and ambitious plans for the year ahead.

Over the summer, the school completed a major expansion of its Early Years provision, creating more space and exciting new opportunities for our youngest pupils. New facilities include The Loft, an imaginative space designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and exploration, and The Atelier, a dedicated environment for art, making and hands-on learning. Enhanced indoor and outdoor areas, refreshed classrooms and wider improvements across the school are all part of this exciting development.

Our new Early Years facilities are the result of several years of planning, led by Head of Early Years Miss Renshaw alongside former Headteacher Mrs Langford, and supported by the wider school team.

The project has continued seamlessly under our new Headteacher, Mr Puckle, who was delighted to welcome Mrs Langford back to join him and Miss Renshaw for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday 18 September.

The opening was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate years of hard work, shared ambition and our commitment to giving children the very best possible start.

At The Ryleys, we welcome children from just 12 months through to the end of Year 6, providing an exceptional foundation while giving families the freedom to choose the senior school that best suits their child. Our pupils move on to a wide range of highly regarded schools across the North West and beyond.

Our 150th anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate our proud heritage while continuing to invest in the future.

Throughout the year, pupils, families, former pupils and the wider community will be invited to join our celebrations. Plans include our 150 Good Deeds initiative, planting 150 trees, opening a historic school time capsule and creating a new one, alongside community celebrations and the digitisation of our school archives.
