Reception Taster Day
In addition to the personal tours we offer to all prospective families, we would be delighted to welcome families to a Reception Taster Day. Held during a normal school day, visitors will be provided the unique opportunity to see a day in the life at The Ryleys School, a leading private school in Cheshire.
The Reception Taster Day includes:
- An opportunity for your child to spend time with our Reception teachers in our Reception classroom and playground
- An opportunity to talk to Headteacher Mrs Langford, and other heads of departments about what we offer at The Ryleys School
- A tour of our school during normal class times to allow you to see our teaching in action
- View the departments and classrooms - including our state of the art science lab, stunning outdoor pool, music department, and art room
Parents will also be able to talk to the teaching staff and pupils and discuss entry procedures with our Admissions team.

The Ryleys School Admissions Process
The application process for The Ryleys School typically begins 12 - 18 months prior to the preferred start date. We encourage all interested families to plan ahead to avoid disappointment.
Step-by-step Admissions Process
- Submit your childs details to the school, either by completing a form on our website, or by calling the school Admissions Department
- Book a Personal Tour for your family to experience The Ryleys School and meet the headteacher
- Attend a School Taster Day - children entering the school from Reception to Year 6 will be invited for a Taster Day to experience the school and enjoy a range of lessons; The teacher will complete an informal assessment in reading, writing and maths dependant on the childs age
- Following the Tour/Taster Day, a place will be offered if the school sees that the child will thrive within the school and make a valuable contribution to school life
- Return of the signed contract and surety deposit secures the place

If the year group you wish your child to enter is full, then your details can be added to a waiting list and you will be contacted as soon as a place becomes available.
