Beginner Skiers from The Ryleys School, a private school in Cheshire, on the ski slopeAs well as the regular PE lessons for all pupils, a large number of Ryley’s pupils were busy taking part in various fixtures recently.

  • Year 3 & 4 boys played hockey versus Altrincham Prep School; They were certainly challenging opponents but our teams impressed us with lots of excellent ball skills and control
  • Year 5 & 6 girls played football at Terra Nova and enjoyed some well matched games resulting in one win and one loss
  • Year 6 girls played netball at Sedbergh in a tournament where their improving game play resulted in a 4th place result
  • Beginner skiers went to the Chill Factore on Thursday in preparation for their ski trip to Morzine in March
  • Y3 pupils attended a football tournament at The Etihad on Friday and successfully made it to the semi finals

Sport is such an important part of child development. Not only the important physical development and creating a foundation for lifelong health, but also learning how to cope with challenge, work as a team and how to be gracious in victory and defeat.

Well done to all who participated so enthusiastically this week.
