Sports Report
It has been a busy and highly successful week of sport, with pupils across the school enjoying a range of competitive and inspirational opportunities. Our cross-country runners represented the school brilliantly at Sedbergh, showing determination, resilience and excellent sportsmanship throughout their races.
Year 1 pupils had a truly memorable experience with a trip to the Etihad Stadium, where they took part in football training in an exciting and professional environment. The children were a credit to the school, approaching the session with enthusiasm, confidence and impressive teamwork.
Earlier in the week, our Year 3 and 4 girls travelled to Wilmslow Prep for a netball fixture, delivering a strong and disciplined performance marked by accurate passing, teamwork and growing confidence. At home, the Year 3 and 4 boys played outstanding hockey against Wilmslow Prep, remaining unbeaten in a fast-paced and highly competitive match.
Competitive sport plays a vital role in children’s development, helping to build resilience, teamwork, confidence and perseverance, while teaching pupils how to win with humility and learn from challenge. This week’s fixtures and experiences were a wonderful reflection of these values in action.
