Back-to-Back Champions! Football Success at the Shrewsbury Tournament
We are incredibly proud to share the fantastic achievement of our U11 boys’ football team, who emerged victorious at the Shrewsbury Football Tournament on Thursday. Competing against several strong teams from across the region, our boys demonstrated outstanding skill, resilience, and teamwork to finish the day undefeated—a remarkable accomplishment that secured them the championship title for the second consecutive year!
Throughout the tournament, the team showcased a high level of technical ability, with impressive passing, solid defensive organisation, and some truly spectacular goals. But it wasn’t just their footballing talent that stood out—our players consistently showed excellent sportsmanship, encouraging their teammates and respecting their opponents, setting a brilliant example for others to follow.
A huge well done to each member of the squad for their dedication and determination. Their hard work in training really paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they represented our school both on and off the pitch.
We would also like to give a special mention to our U11 girls’ football team, who also took part in the tournament. They played with tremendous heart and determination, securing a number of wins and draws across their matches. The girls showed fantastic team spirit, perseverance, and tactical awareness throughout the day. Each player contributed to a very strong team performance, and we applaud their commitment and positive attitude.
These successes would not have been possible without the support of our wider school community. We are incredibly grateful to David Platt, a former parent, for generously donating our smart new team kits, and to Stuart Rushton, another former parent, for his kind sponsorship of the team. Your contributions have made a real difference and are deeply appreciated by all involved.
Finally, a big thank you to all the parents, carers, and family members who came along to cheer on the teams. Your support from the sidelines created a brilliant atmosphere and helped lift the players when it mattered most.
