Senior School - An Alumni Story

Senior School - An Alumni Story

We are proud of our Year 6 pupils as they complete their entrance exams with a quiet confidence and determination. Their focused preparation in the months leading up to this period has been excellent and we are excited to hear how they go in the months to come. Well done!

Former pupil James Corrigan was in touch with the School this week and kindly shared his own experience of life after The Ryleys School. Now 13, James has enjoyed his first few years at Senior School, is beginning to select his GCSE subjects, and enjoyed looking back at his Prep School years.

James Corrigan, alumni of The Ryleys School, a private school in Cheshire, who has gone on to an enjoyable and successful journey into senior school at Cheadle Hulme School"I attended The Ryleys School from 2017 to 2022, starting in Year 2 and going all the way through to Year 6.

After the Ryleys School, I applied to three different schools: The Grange, Kings Macclesfield and Cheadle Hulme School. I was offered a scholarship from all of the schools, and I decided to go to Cheadle Hulme School.

My favourite memory of the Ryleys was probably when I won the National Science Quiz regionals with my team (we got to the finals and were meant to go to London, but Covid happened), although I also really enjoyed building the Kit Car and going to race with it. We won the Portfolio Award at the first event and the Appearance Award at the second event.

I often play and talk online with my Ryleys friends, so even after going to different high schools we still keep in touch.

I would say to any parents who are considering the Ryleys School, go for it! It is a great school, with a small community where everyone knows each other. Personally, I had an amazing educational experience, and my parents say moving me to the Ryleys School was the best decision they made.

The staff are always kind and supportive and always encourage you to push yourself and achieve your best. With a wide variety of extra curricular clubs there is something for everyone!"
