Global Perspectives is our own, personalised curriculum that incorporates history, geography and beliefs and values. By studying countries around the world, the children are educated about the unity and interdependence of human society, cultural diversity, human rights and justice, conflict resolution and sustainability. The subject areas are used as a medium for developing key geographical and historical skills.
The beliefs and values aspect of this curriculum incorporates R.S. and P.S.H.E.E and equips children with knowledge, understanding, attitudes and practical skills to live healthy, safe, productive, fulfilled and responsible lives. It supports them in making effective transitions and positive learning. Furthermore, it enables children and young people to reflect on and clarify their own values and attitudes, and explore and respect the complex range of values and attitudes they encounter now and in the future.
The countries studied in Year 5 are Great Britain, India and S. America.
