The Ryleys Scholarships are available in three categories: academic, arts (incorporating art, music and drama) and sport. They are available for existing pupils in years 3 and 4. The academic assessment include written tests in English (creative writing and comprehension) and maths, while the arts and sport scholarships will be awarded on the basis of teacher assessment.
Pupils who are included in the scholarship programme will enjoy learning enhancement activities and outings, and a 10% reduction in school fees. This prestigious award is also looked upon favourably by other schools when transferring at 11+.
The scholarship is initially awarded for one year, after which time it will be reviewed. If the pupil has continued to perform at the required level and consistently meets the criteria of the scholarship award, then it may be extended for another year.
The Arts Scholarship incorporates the three elements of music, drama and art. Therefore, we are looking for a scholar who shows flair and ability in at least two of those categories.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of the Scholarship Programme because I really enjoy going on lots of different educational trips. Highlights have included a visit to Jodrell Bank, tour around BBC Media Centre as well as an informative talk on money skills by a Barclays’ manager. Furthermore, a local police constable shared her excellent knowledge of Manchester on a fascinating tour of the city.”
