Outdoor Classroom

Pupils show high levels of their development of their resilience, problem solving capabilities, risk taking awareness and independence as a result of outdoor learning opportunities."

When did your child last have the opportunity to roam freely, chase butterflies, toast marshmallows with friends and build a den to watch the clouds float by?

Now children at The Ryleys have the exciting opportunity to experience nature and learn in our beautiful purpose built Outdoor Classroom. Text books are swapped for leaves and bark, whiteboards become the forest floor and acorns and twigs become counting tools as children discover the delights that nature offers.

Our new and exciting Outdoor Classroom will allow children to access and engage in the curriculum in a unique way, enabling them to also develop personal, social and emotional skills, including:

“Must we always teach our children with books? Let them look at the stars and the mountains above.  Let them look at the waters and the trees and flowers on Earth. Then they will begin to think, and to think is the beginning of a real education.”
