London Theatre Trip
Early on the Monday morning, 41 members of the Senior
Choir and their teachers left The Ryleys for an overnight visit to
London to watch the stirring West End production of Les Miserables
and to visit Madame Tussaud's.
With the weather surprisingly clear, the tourists were
able to make the most of the decongested streets to admire
the capital's famous landmarks and the seasonal
Christmas lights.
The last stop before the show was at Planet Hollywood
for a hearty meal while a multitude of TV screens, showing non-stop
film clips, kept the party amused and entertained.
Then on to the theatre for a fabulous and moving
performance of 'Les Mis'. Despite being nearly three hours long,
the fine acting and rousing songs ensured that everyone left
the show inspired. As always, our pupils
were a credit to the school, several other
theatregoers commenting on their excellent behaviour
throughout.
After a good night's sleep and an excellent breakfast, it
was off to Madame Tussaud's. The Big Brother House was
a particular favourite and it was clear that some
of the party would happily have stayed in there for
longer! Everyone wanted to be photographed with the many
stars and celebrities, with X-Factor wannabes especially keen
to catch the eye of Simon Cowell! Those brave enough then ventured
into the Chamber of Horrors where real actors added to the
frightening effects.
Finally it was homeward bound, the tired but happy
tourists reaching Cheshire as darkness fell, all unanimously
agreeing that it was the best trip ever!
