From The Head - Friday 15th March 2024

Julia Langford, Headteacher of The Ryleys School, a private school in Alderley Edge, Cheshire

Year 6 delivered a very poignant message to us all in assembly today.

The children focused on the concept of time and how precious it is. We often talk about time flying and, sometimes, time dragging, very much depending on what is happening in our lives at that moment.

Either way, the passing of time is something we can't control and, without wishing to appear gloomy, something we don't know how much we have.

Very eloquently, Year 6 reminded us how important it is to make the most of every moment and make it count, and that ultimately, love is at the centre of it all.

Without love, life can be very meaningless. Spending time with those we love and making the most of that time is what counts. Sometimes we all need that reminder to live in the present and enjoy every single moment...

"Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present."
Bill Keane

Have a lovely weekend.
