Festivals and concerts

As mentioned on the website's music pages, our musicians and singers are often invited to perform in public concerts and other musical events. This motivates the children to strive to achieve the highest standards they can, in order to perform at these levels.

Such events have included a Christmas Concert with the Manchester Boys' Choir, Prom Praise, Britten's 'A Ceremony of Carols' with the Tatton Singers and regular appearances at the Christmas at Capesthorne event. Competitively, the children have sung in the BBC Choir Competition, The Alderley Music Festival, The Rotary Choir Festival and The Youth Music Competition.

The Alderley Edge Music Festival is one of the undoubted highlights of the year for our pupils, with singers, musicians and poets all participating in dozens of classes. With 14 first places, 7 second places and 9 third places, 2009 was our most successful year yet!
