Extra Curriculum

Extra-Curricular Clubs

At The Ryleys School, we believe that personal-development continues well beyond the classroom and so we offer pupils an abundance of extra-curricular clubs which operate both at lunchtime and after school.

Teachers will make recommendations to parents and children about co-curricular activities, helping them to pursue interests and hobbies that facilitate their growth as individuals and their sense of belonging to the wider school community.

We offer a diverse co-curricular programme: From sailing, water polo, gymnastics, ballet to art, film, and book club - there is something to suit everyone. Each term brings a new assortment of clubs, including:

  • Athletics
  • Movemement
  • Dance
  • Music
  • Art
  • STEM/Maker
  • Games
  • Cooking
  • and more!

Parents can view a list of current term clubs and register via our ClassForKids app.

EXTRA @The Ryleys - After School Club

For parents looking for child care before and/or after school, The Ryleys School offers a fantastic wraparound care club throughout the year for pupils in reception to year 6. This means that children can enjoy care and activities in the familiar and convenient setting of the school surroundings. Includes a wide-range of activities & play, time to complete homework, and high tea.

The objective of Extra@The Ryleys is to offer a flexible solution for parents who can use it as often as they need. The activities offered are extensive and varied so they are suitable for all age ranges, incorporate sports, games, activities, and some structured homework/learning activities also.

High tea will be served at 4:45pm for all children booked into the full/late session.  This is not a full evening meal but it is something like jacket potatoes, pasta bake, soup & sandwiches, etc.

After school, at 3.30pm, any Pre-Prep children (Reception to Y2) booked into the Extra@ The Ryleys - After School Club are collected by Extra@ staff and taken to relevant classroom. Any children attending extra-curricular clubs are taken by the duty teacher to the Extra@ classrooms at the end of their session.

Prep children (Y3 – 6) will make their own way to Extra@ classrooms either at 3.30pm when their school day finishes, or after the extra-curricular club they are involved with.

The Timetable varies day by day and includes a wide range of planned activities in one hour sessions including Sports, Mad Science, Forest School, Computing, Cookery, Film Club, Games and Treasure Hunts.

We aim to offer as much flexibility as possible and sessions can be booked right up until 3pm on the day (subject to availability).

We encourage you to book the term in advance but last minute bookings can also be accommodated. Please ensure you book in using the online booking system as it is important children are booked in advance to ensure the class teachers know where children are going at the end of the school day.

Costings can be found below and you can book early/late/full sessions depending on what you require. Payment via childcare vouchers/tax-free childcare is accepted.
