About the School

Headmaster's Welcome

Thank you for your enquiry about The Ryleys. I hope you will find this website interesting and informative.

It can, however, only afford you a glimpse of the many experiences and opportunities available to our pupils. It is no substitute for a visit when you will be able to gain a real insight into the life, work and unique atmosphere of the school.

It is our genuine belief that every child has the potential to succeed and our aim is to see that potential realised and fulfilled in a happy, secure and purposeful environment guided by a well-qualified and dedicated staff. We value all pupils as individuals, with their own particular skills, talents and interests and seek to provide them with the teaching, encouragement and opportunities to discover, explore and develop these to the greatest extent possible.

As a school with a long and distinguished history of over 130 years, our commitment to the traditional values of courtesy and respect for others are unequivocal and are the cornerstone of our entire pastoral and personal approach. That the pupils exemplify these values is a source of great pride to us.

Your choice of school will be one of the most important decisions you will make for your children, so please accept this invitation to come and see us at The Ryleys - my wife, Barbara, and I would be delighted to show you around. Let our pupils confirm for you what this website can only suggest. We look forward to meeting you.

Pat Barrett,
Headmaster.
